Bonilee Horner, 82, of Senath, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, at her residence.
Born Aug. 30, 1921, in Neely's Landing, Mo., daughter of the late Gilbert Short, Sr. and Lillian Short, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Senath, the Senath Federated Women's Club, the Daughters of the American Revolution and she also served on the University of Missouri Extension program. She also operated a beauty shop out of her home.
On May 24, 1939, she married J.L. Horner, who preceded her in death on Aug. 6, 1969. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ladonne Bacon and a brother, Edwin Short.
Survivors include one daughter, Jeana Lewis and husband, Bill, of Senath; three brothers, Davis Short, of Hubert, N.C., Ralph Short, of Jackson, Mo. and Gilbert Short, of Pittsburg, N.H.; two grandchildren, Jennifer Branum, of Senath and Jay Lewis, of Paragould, Ark. and one great-granddaughter, Ali Jae Lewis.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Jan. 21, at the First Baptist Church in Senath with the Rev. Derek Combs officiating.
Burial was in the Senath Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Marty Miller, Mike Todd, Raymond French, Mark Dunivan, Haze Montgomery and John David Raines.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
