Nellie Conway, 89, of Greenwood, Miss., formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
Born in Clifton, Tenn., daughter of the late Doc and Mary King, she was a homemaker and a member of the Cottonwood Point Missionary Baptist Church in Cottonwood Point, Mo.
She married James Wallace Conway, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son and one granddaughter.
Survivors include three sons, Tom Henson "Buddy", Gerald and James David Conway and wife, Debbie, all of Greenwood; five daughters, Nannie Marie Simpson and husband, Craig, of Aledn, Texas, Norma Jane Griffin and husband, Jack, of Van Buren, Mo., Rebecca Ann Hunter and husband, Larry, of Flower Mound, Texas and Jimmie Epperson and husband, Ray and Mary Abbott Wiseman and husband, Jim, all of Greenwood; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren and 16 step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Gerald, David, Chad and Josh Conway, Jason Abbott, Jim Pool, Jack Griffin, Jr. and Walter Ray Epperson, Jr.
