Robert E. Hamra, 88, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, Jan. 12, 2004, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
Born Nov. 11, 1915, in Caruthersville, son of the late Phillip S. and Louise Hamra, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a retail merchant. He was a member of the American Legion and the First Presbyterian Church in Caruthersville.
On March 3, 1949, in Hernando, Miss., he married Elizabeth H. Haddad, who survives.
Survivors also include one sister, Helen Nichols, of Peoria, Ill. and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dr. Paul Currie officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Bobby Khourie, John Nichols, George Baddour, Harry E. and David Haddad, Gary Lee Smith, Harry A. Day, Jr. and Skip Hamra.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Hutchison, Dr. Alan S. Gubin and Robert O. Pierce.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
