Vera Lee Langston, 75, of Cardwell, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004, at her residence.
Born in Walnut Ridge, Ark., daughter of the late Sylvester and Maggie Looney Wilson, she was a teacher, a member of the Women's Lions Club, the Missouri Retired Teachers Association and a former receipient of the Missouri Teacher of the Year Award. She was currently serving on the Cardwell City Council amd attended the Buck Donic Community Church.
She married Burl Langston, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Danny Langston, of Kennett; two daughters, Dianne Langston Pratt, of Hot Springs, Ark. and Cynthia Annette Herren, of Paragould, Ark.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Patsy Reed.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 15, at the Cardwell Cemetery with the Rev. Ronnie Malone officiating.
Howard Funeral Service of Leachville, Ark., was in charge of arrangements.
