Sue Uthoff Snow, 74, of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born Oct. 12, 1929, in Malden, daughter of the late Collis P. Buchanan and Bessie Lee Gulledge, she taught school at East Prairie, Mo., owned and operated Uthoff Grocery in Malden and also worked for Santie Oil in Malden. She was the a county area DAEOC office manager until retirement.
On Aug. 24, 1948, in Piggott, Ark., she married Richard Pope, who preceded her in death. She later married Amos J. Uthoff, on Nov. 11, 1961 in Bloomfield, Mo., who preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1989. On June 19, 2001, in Piggott, Ark., she married Curtis P. Snow, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Jenna Bates and husband, Shaun, of Malden; one son, Richard Pope and wife, Nancy, of Camdenton, Mo.; three brothers, Benny Buchanan, of Dexter, Mo., William Buchanan, of Invernisse, Fla. and Robert Buchanan, of Sikeston, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Steven Thomas, Daniel, Jacob, Samuel and Stephanie Pope, Jameson Kennedy and Tristen Bates and three great-grandchidlren, Tyra, Tamalya Sue and Tylee Dawn Pope.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Stephen Ford and William Paul Pope and one brother, Billy Buchanan.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
