Thomas Henry Middleton, 84, of Portageville, Mo. formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at his residence.
Born Aug. 25, 1919, in Arkansas, a son of the late James and Angeline Elizabeth McClain Middleton, he was a carpenter, cotton ginner and attended the Assembly of God Church in Portageville.
On June 10, 1967, in Hayti, he married Gladys Brewer who survives.
He is further survived by seven children, Joe Middleton, Barbara VanDeWaal and husband, Stan, Doyle Millie, and Rebecca Redden and her husband, Maurice, all of Hayti, Duke Middleton and wife, Janet, of Caruthersville, Nancy Robbins and husband, David, of Memphis, Tenn. and Marlena Nobles and husband, Joel, of Portageville; three sisters, Ola Powell and Margie Erwin both of Hayti and Lorene Fleming of Sunflower, Miss.; and one brother, Sonny Middleton and wife, Nellie, of Farmers City, Ill.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Eugene Pool officiating.
Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Paul VanDeWaal, Jerry Middleton, Jeffrey Middleton, Tommy Middleton, Lee Middleton and Justin Middleton.
Honorary pallbearers were Chris Redden, Brad Redden, Aaron Nobles and Steven Nobles.
