Earline Williams, 71, of Steele, Mo., died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Methodist Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Born Monday, May 23, 1932, in Steele, a daughter of the late James Isom and Melvina Wright Mathenia, she was a secretary and member of First Baptist Church at Steele.

On July 27, 1951, at Micola, Mo., she married J.W. Williams, who survives.

Other survivors include two sons, Jerry Wayne Williams of Steele and Gregory Alan Williams and wife, Michelle, of Hoquiam, Wash; two daughters, Lisa Darlene Graham and husband, David, of New Madrid, Mo. and Sandra Middleton and husband, Michael, of Wichita, Kans.; brothers, Leo Mathenia and Alvin Mathenia both of Flint, Mich., and Harold Mathenia of Steele; sisters, Bernice Lewis of Wappapello, and Mary Hockaday of Nashville, Ark.; five grandchildren, David Adam Graham, Zachary Avery Graham and Colby Lynn Newson, all of New Madrid, Megan Cyrena William and Amanda Joy Williams, both of Hoquiam; two great-grandchildren, Clara Grace Porter of New Madrid and Terry Jeffrey Lynn "T.J." Williams of Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was preceded in death by one son, Terry Lynn Williams; four brothers and sisters, Velta Mae Vaughn Hundhausen, Rev. J.O. Mathenia, Fred Mathenia and L.H. Mathenia.

Funeral services are 3 p.m. today, Sunday, Jan. 4, at First Baptist Church in Steele with the Rev. Jim Mousie officiating.

Burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele.
