Bertha Loutisha Holligan, 88, of Searcy, Ark., formerly of Kennett, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Searcy.

Born Aug. 29, 1915, in Lowndes, Mo., daughter of the late William Edgar and Cora Edith Barks St. Clair, she was a sewing machine operator and a member of the Third Street Baptist Church in Kennett.

She married Normal Holligan, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Betty Moser, of Searcy and Barbara Weaver, of Bartlett, Tenn.; one son, Butch Holligan and wife, Veda, of Mountain Home, Ark.; two sisters, Geneva Parish, of Farmington, Mo. and Nina Simpson, of Klamoth Falls, Ore.; one brother, Rev. Edgar St. Clair, of Farmington; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Jan. 2, at the Powell Funeral Home in Searcy.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, at the Landmark Baptist Church in Searcy.

Burial will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 4, at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

Ruby McMunn

Ruby Hedges McMunn, 82, of Tecumseh, Okla., formerly of Qulin, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Shawnee, Okla.

Born Oct. 21, 1921, in Hayti, Mo., daughter of the late Ruben and Hodie Baynes Hedges, she was a pharmacy clerk at St. Luke's Hospital in St. Louis and also worked at the Head Start office in Tecumseh. She was a member of the Pink Baptist Church.

On Oct. 5, 1938, in Kennett, she married Bill McMunn, who preceded her in death on July 2, 1977.

Survivors include six sons, Carl McMunn and wife, Pat, B.J. McMunn and wife, Dianne and Ed McMunn and wife, Sharon, all of Bonne Terre, Mo., Herschel McMunn and wife, Delores, of Tecumseh, Bob McMunn and wife, Barb, of Kalamazoo, Mich. and Gary McMunn and wife, Shirley, of Cedar Hill, Mo.; two daughters, Marie Ball and husband, Bill, of Kennedale, Texas and Lynda Sharpe and husband, Ed, of St. Louis; one brother, David Hedges, of Paw Paw, Mich.; one sister, Imogene Gaultney, of Crystal City, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 2004, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell, Mo.

Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 6, at the Qulin Cemetery.
