Louise Mitchell Cook, 88, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003.
Born August 12, 1915, near Hornbeak in Obion County, Tenn., daughter of the late Lexie and Minnie Barnes Mitchell, she was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ in Hayti.
On September 29, 1940 in Steele, Mo., she married Earl Wilkins Cook, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one son, Earl Eugene Cook; five brothers, Marshall, Nelly, Glenn, Lexi and James Mitchell and one sister, Loxie Hooker.
Survivors include, one daughter, Jacqueline Blankenship and husband, Billy, of Kennett; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Cook of Caruthersville, Mo.; one sister, Doris Price and husband, Joe, of Senatobia, Miss., three grandsons, Michael Blankenship, of Kennett, Noel Gene Cook of Hayti, Chris Cook of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Genia Harrsion, of Lexington, Ky.; five great-granddaughters, Jessica Blakenship, Leigha Blankenship, Rena Cook, Lynzi Cook, and Kaylee Harrison; and two great grandsons, Weston Blankenship and John-Rocco Harrison.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003 at the Church of Christ in Hayti, with James Powell officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Michael, Jim and Billy Blankenship, Noel Gene and Chris Cook and John Harrison.
Honorary pallbearers were Genia, Kaylee and John-Rocco Harrison, Jessica, Leigha and Weston Blankenship and Rena and Lynzi Cook
John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti was in charge of arrangements.
