James Allen Martin, 73, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003 at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Born July 6, 1930 in Pemiscot County, son of the late Virgil and Agnes Hailey Martin, he was a parts and service manager for Striegel Auto Company, a member of NRA, a graduate of Wardell High School and a member of the Church of Christ in Hayti.
He was married to Genelda Mitchell, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Scotty Martin and wife, Martha, of Hayti; two daughters, Sheila Martin, of Scotts Hill, Tenn., and Teresa Hayes and husband, Tony, of Portageville, Mo.; three stepchildren, Danny R. Mitchell and Rickey Mitchell, both of Kennett and Hellen Ostertag, of Overland, Kan.; three grandchildren Brandon, Adam and Autumn Martin; seven step grandchildren; one brother, C.V. Martin of Pottsboro, Texas and one sister Vriginia Clayton of St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 27 at the Church of Christ in Hayti, with Jeff Thomas officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.
Pallbearers were Joe Tilmon, Jim Tilmon, Freddy Russom and Jimmy Lee Wilson.
John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of services.
