Naomi Ruth Morgan, 93, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
Born March 9, 1910, in Hayti, Mo., daughter of the late Francis Marion "Frank" and Mary Evelyn Eastridge Baird, she was a bookkeeper and a caseworker and supervisor with the Missouri Division of Family Services. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in Caruthersville.
On April 23, 1927, in Blytheville, Ark., she married William Parker Morgan, who preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1945. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, Paul, R.W. and Claude Franklin "Jitters" Baird and one sister, Maxine Raburn.
Survivors include two sons, William Parker "Bill" Morgan, Jr., of Hayti and Frank Baird Morgan, of Caruthersville; eight grandchildren, Linda Burnett, Parker, Rebecca, Jim, Dana and Dona Morgan, Tina Slentz and Frank Morgan, Jr.; 19 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 27, at the Sacred Heart Church with Father Joe Campbell officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Chris and Bradley Clark, Alex, Bill, IV, Nathan, Matt and Jay Morgan, Michael and Morgan Overbey and Frankie Morgan, III.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
