James Dunaway, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, at Three Rivers North Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.
Born July 28, 1923, in Kennett, he was the son of the late George and Emma Branum Dunaway.
On Dec. 25, 1944, he married Lorene Brandon, who preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 2002. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Louie and Marvin Dunaway; two sisters, Marie Landess and E.V. Dunaway and one grandson, Jimmy Barnett.
Survivors include two sons, Donald and Paul Dunaway, both of Poplar Bluff; one daughter, Doris McCord, of Poplar Bluff; two brothers, Raymond and Tom Dunaway, both of Chicago, Ill.; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 30, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lawrence Chatman officiating.
Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were George Asher, Donald and Paul Dunaway, J.V. Barnett, Jason Bell and Lennie Weston.
