Annie Sue Childress, 80, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Tuesday, July 10, 1923, at Shofner, Ark., a daughter of the late Johnny Jones and Gloria Edwards Jones, she was a homemaker and attended the Full Gospel Church in Hayti, Mo.
She married Willie Charles Childress who preceded her in death.
Survivors include five sons, Eddie Childress of Dyersburg, Tenn., Willie Charles Childress and wife, Yvonne, Louis Childress and wife, Della, James Childress and wife, Rosie, all of Kennett and Frank Childress of Hayti; five daughters, Gloria Dean Childress, Sarah Jane MackField and husband, Emmitt, Helen Mae Childress, and Ester Mae Childress, all of Kennett; and Saura Rose and husband, TJ, of Bragg City, Mo.; two step-children, Alma Jones of Marston, Mo. and Bob Alcorn of Newport, Ark.; five brothers, Walter Jones of Portageville, Mo., Dee Junior Jones of Rochester, N.Y., Jessie Jones and Joe Bob Jones, both of Hayti and Robert Jones of Jonesboro, Ark.; one sister, Lula Olden of Hayti; 40 grandchildren and 75 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Bobbie Joe and Ellis Childress.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 22, at Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett.
Funeral services are 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Community Temple Church in Kennett with Elder Charley Clayburn officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Rose, James Lee Jones, Tyrone Rose, Goldie Childress, Bennett Childress, Dennis Childress, Thomas Rose and Malcolm Childress.
Honorary pallbearers are Robert Hursey, Mike Gage, Melvin DeBerry and Meco Reeves.
