Dennis Ray Gifford, 57, of Rosie, Ark., died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in Batesville, Ark.
Born Aug. 8, 1946, in Kennett, son of Ray and Dorris Donaldson Gifford, he was a retired Senior Corporal First Class Arkansas State Trooper, a member of the Arkansas State Police Association, the Ozark Highland Trails and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Gifford; two daughters, Jill Imboden and husband, Cory, of Conway, Ark. and Saundra Sturdivant and her husband, Eric, of Vilonia, Ark.; one brother, David Gifford, of Pocahontas, Ark.; two sisters, Kay Sturgeon, of Kennett and Debbie McEwen, of Rogers, Ark. and four grandchildren, Caleb, Casey, Jordan and Jaycie.
Funeral sevices were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 19, at the West Baptist Church in Batesville with Bill Huddleston and Jim Black officiating.
Burial was in the Wyatt Cemetery at Rosie.
Pallbearers were Jackie Lee, Mark Tovey, Otto Saylors, Ken Moody, Tommy Mitchum and Dudley Lemon.
Honorary pallbearers were the Arkansas State Police and local law enforcement.
Willis-Hays Funeral Service in Batesville was in charge of arrangements.
