Vernon Shepard, 90, of Caholia, Ill., died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, at his residence.
Born Nov. 7, 1913, in Campbell, Mo., son of the late Fred and Snowy James Shepard, he was a forklift operator, and a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Waterloo, Ill.
He married Tresa Mae Lentz, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Jerry Wayne Shepard and wife, paula, of Arnold, Mo.; three grandchildren, Terrie Shepard, Randy Shepard and Amy Morse and six great-grandchildren, Candice, Addie, Luke and Echo Morse Shepard, Billy Ludwig and Lilly Morse.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Louis, Fuller and William Shepard and four sisters, Gladys Jackson, Pearl Barry, Haley Pierce and Louella Martin.
Visitation will be from 3:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 19, at the Baun Colonial Funeral Home in Cahokia, Ill.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the Braun Colonial Funeral Home Chapel wiuth Pastors Jeffrey Brady and Larry Croy officiating.
Burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Clarkton Township, Mo.
