Linda Phelps, 56, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born April 19, 1947, in Saltillo, Tenn., daughter of the late Perry and Rita Sparks Alexander, she was employed at Brown Shoe Company in Caruthersville and a member of the Central Church of Christ.
On Dec. 31, 1977, in Caruthersville, she married James Phelps.
Survivors include two sons, Truman Lee Smith, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Timothy Lynn Smith, of Jackson, Mo.; one daughter, Rita Marie Middleton, of Caruthersville; two brothers, Stancie Alexander, of Saltillo and Jimmy Alexander, of Caruthersville; three sisters, Jean Brewer, of Marion, Ind., Sue Kimbrell, of Caruthersville and Helen Kennedy, of Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray and Arlie Alexander and three sisters, Muriel Grooms, Velma May Alexander and Dot Thompson.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Mike McDaniel officiating.
Burial was in the Corinth Cemetery at Saltillo.
Family members served as pallbearers.
