Born Aug. 30, 1905, at Holcomb, son of the late Arthur F. and Bertha E. Teel Branes, he was a retired co-owner of an appliance and clothing store and a member of Rotary International.
On May 9, 1931, at Clarkton, Mo., he married Irene Anderson who survives.
Other survivors include on son, Robley J. Barnes and wife, Brenda, of Plano; on sister, Pearl Douglass and husband, Mike, of Allen, Texas; two granddaughters, Becky High of McKinney, Texas and Bonnie Shepherd of Allen; four great-grandchildren, Morgan Ajames, Chase High, Tyler Shepherd and Alex Shepherd.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Barnes and three sisters, Edna Williamson, Euna Strickland and Lillian Horner.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, at Landess Chapel with the Rev. Barron Willer officiating.
Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
