Thelma Mattie Campbell, 85, of Stronghurst, Ill., formerly of Kennett, died Monday, Dec. 8, 2003, at Oak Lane Nursing & Rehab Center in Stronghurst.
Born Sept. 20, 1918, in Hayti, Mo., daughter of the late Daniel and Mattie Sullivan Anderson, she was a member of the Ely Baptist Church in Kennett.
She married Carroll Campbell, who preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 1997. She was also preceded in death by one son, Harold Eugene Campbell; three brothers and a twin sister.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn East and husband, Charles, of Oquawka, Ill.; one grandson, Charles Dennis East, of Minot, N.D.; two granddaughters, Sarah Campbell, of Oklahoma City, Okla. and Lindsey Campbell, of Walnut Ridge, Ark. and three great-grandchildren, Marisa, Alec and Ty East, all of Minot.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Dec. 12, at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Don Slatton officiating.
Pallbearers were Lanny Wilson, Carroll Moore, T.R. Baker, Maurice Wallace, Terry Baker and Dean Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Branum and George Nelson.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
