Gertrude L. Buckley, 85, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., formerly of Campbell, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 7, 2003, at Chateau Girardeau, in Cape Girardeau.
Born Nov. 4, 1918, in Campbell, daughter of Guy Leonides and Mollie Sue Beck Hall, she served more than 25 years as Campbell city clerk. A member of the United Methodist Church in Campbell, she was an associate member of Centenary Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau and a member of the Methodist Women's Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, the Women's Club and the Garden Club.
On Sept. 3, 1939, she married Charlie B. Buckley who preceded her in death on Jan. 21, 1988.
Surviving are a daughter, Brena Mayo Noyes and husband, Bob, of Bloomfield, Mo.; two grandchildren, Scott Mayo, of Bloomfield, and Cheryl Myers, of St. Charles, Mo.; four great-grandchildren, Jake Myers, Mollie Myers, Stewart Mayo and Sydney Mayo; two step-grandsons, Jay Noyes of Tokyo, Japan and Kent Noyes, of Manchester, Mo. and three step great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brendon and Kaci Noyes.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. John Adams and Dan Sitze officiating.
Burial follow in Woodlawn Cemetery at Campbell.
