Luvene Jarboe, 77, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at the Pemiscot Nursing Home in Hayti.
Born April 28, 1926, in Halls, Tenn., daughter of the late L.K. and Edith Elizabeth Cousins Benthal, she was in the garment business and a member of the Central Church of Christ.
On April 13, 1957, in Hernando, Miss., she married Charles Alvin Jarboe, who preceded her in death on June 27, 1988. She was also preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Alexander, of Collierville, Tenn.; one son, Kendall Jarboe, of Caruthersville; three brothers, Gene Benthal, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., Dalmas Benthal, of Helena, Ark. and Burvis Bentahl, of Columbus, Ohio: one sister, Clarice Miller, of Portland Ore. and two granddaughters, Ashley Brooke Alexander, of Collierville and Candise Elaine Jarboe, of Gosnell, Ark.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville with Mike McDaniel officiating.
