Jim D. Howard, 78, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born March 28, 1925, in Lexington, Tenn., son of the late Arthur and Betsy Grey Howard, he was in the trucking business.
On March 28, 1946, in Corinth, Miss., he married Mary Maglene Smothers, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Janet Horton, of Lexington; one sister, Doris Adams, of St. Louis, Mo.; three grandchildren, David Middleton, of Nashville, Tenn., Michelle Lanier and Melissa Middleton, both of Caruthersville and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Ben Howard.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville with Jerry Horton officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele, Mo.
Pallbearers were Josh and Jackie Middleton, Robert Green, Charles E. Lanier, Jr., Josh VanDyke, Lloyd Cash and Thomas Bell.
