Roy Harold Hildebrand, Sr., 82, of Fayetteville, Ark., died Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Fayetteville.
Born Oct. 6, 1921, in Clarkton, Mo., son of the late Roy R. and Icy V. Haislip Hildebrand, he was a U.S. Marine veteran, having served in WWII, a member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the United Methodist Church. He operated a retail store in Risco, Mo., a dairy farm and restaurant in Campbell, Mo., worked for Tobacco Sales Company in Jonesboro, Ark. and the Farner-Bocken Company of Ames, Iowa.
On Jan. 8, 1945, in Piggott, Ark., he married Lola Faye Wilburn, who preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Roy H. "Sonny" Hildebrand, Jr. and wife, Shirley, of Fayetteville; one granddaughter, Stacey Hildebrand Chambers, of Van Buren, Ark.; one grandson, Garrick D. Hildebrand, of Fayetteville and one great-daughter, Ariana Chambers, of Van Buren.
Visitation will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton.
