John Joshua Carnahan, 75, of Okeechobee, Fla., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at his residence.
Born Nov. 15, 1928, in Butler County, Mo., son of the late Joshua Adolph and Gertrude Ann Barbour Carnahan, he was a retired Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. employee. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1951 to 1953, an was a member of the Malden Saddle Club and Malden Jaycees. He attended the First Baptist Church in Malden.
On Dec. 22, 1950, in Hendrickson, Mo., he married Betty Lou Moore who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Nancy VanGennip and husband, Keith, of Brandon, Fla.; one brother, Paul Carnahan, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and two sisters, Mayme Campbell and Lorena Kearbey, both of Poplar Bluff.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 21, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
