George Paul Harris, 67, of Senath, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 8, 2003 in Senath.
Born on February 22, 1936 in Jonesboro, Ark., the son of the late Paul Harris and Mavis Krone Harris of Senath. He was a Certified Public Accountant and farmer. He was Manager and President of Farmers Union Gin and Warehouse Co. and a member of the Board of Directors of Kennett National Bank, Crowley's Ridge College and Cotton, Inc. He served as an elder of the Senath Church of Christ and was on the Board of directors and former president of the Cotton Producers of Missouri. He was instrumental in establishing the Senath-Hornersville Educational Foundation to provide scholarships for SHHS students and served that organization as treasurer.
On September 10, 1958 he married Rebecca Carver, who survives of the home.
Other survivors include two sons, Greg Harris and wife, Missy of Kennett, and Steve Harris and wife Sherri of Senath; and eight grandchildren, Paul, Payte, Tyler and Austin Harris and Chelsea, Anna Beth, Laura and Kate White.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 10, at the Church of Christ in Senath with Art Smith and Greg Pollock officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens in Kennett.
