Lena Chloe Book, 87, of Conway, Ark., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 24, 2003, at her residence.
Born Feb. 2, 1916, in Bernie, Mo., daughter of the late Marion and Florence Cross Mills, she was a homemaker, teachers aide and volunteer at the Malden Nutrition Center. She was a member of the Bethany General Baptist Church in Campbell, Mo. where she had seved as a Sunday school teacher.
On March 10, 1940, in Piggott, Ark., she married Homer Book, who preceded her in death on May 21, 1990. She was also preceded in death by two infant daughters, Beverly and Barbara; two sisters, Ollie Petty and Etoil Howe and three brothers, Everett, Harold and Wendell Mills.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Rapp and husband, Michael, of Conway; two sons, Neil Book and wife, Gail, of Rolla, Mo. and Leon Book and wife, Patricia, of Cape Girardeau, Mo. and four grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Bethany General Baptist Church with the Pastor Bryan Johnson officiating.
Burial will follow at the Bethany Cemetery in Campbell.
Memorials may be made to the Bethany General Baptist Church and the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research.
