John Melvin Chilcutt, 73, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at his residence.
Born March 18, 1930, in Rector, Ark., son of the late John Henry and Ollie Florence Hubble Chilcutt, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a farmer.
On April 5, 1978, in Kennett, he married Ruth M. Ray, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one daughter, Kathy Gaye Scheffler, of Lilbourn, Mo.; one step-daughter, Cindy Pickard, of Kennett; one step-son, Jimmy Earl Webb, of Henderson, Ark.; one brother, Alvie Chilcutt, of Rector, Ark.; two sisters, Verna Faucett, of Rector and Inus Faucett, of McRae, Ark.; three grandchildren, Krystal and Clynt Scheffler, both of Batesville, Ark. and Mark Scheffler, of Calico, Rock, Ark.; four step-grandchildren, Chris Webb, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., Daniel Webb, of Potosi, Mo. and Jessica and Shanna Pickard, both of Kennett and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector with the Rev. J.C. Joyner officiating.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
