Bobby Joe Coffer, 67, of Dexter, Mo., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, near Buck Snort in Oregon County.
Born Sept. 8, 1936, in Danville, Ark., son of the late Johnny James and Lillie Mae Brand Coffer, he was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Malden.
On July 21, 1955, in Kennett, he married Doris Marie Holbrook, who preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 1992. He later married June Tucker Kent on Aug. 7, 1993, in Dexter, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Jack Coffer, of Hornbeck, Tenn.; four daughters, Paula Handley, of Bernie, Mo., Deanna Hendricks, of Houston, Texas, Shirlene Reed, of Malden and Shellie Farmer, of Dexter; one step-son, Steve Kent, of Dexter; one step-daughter, Lora Kent, of Indianapolis, Ind.; three brothers, Floyd Coffer, of Kennett, George Coffer, of Montgomery, Texas and Jim Coffer, of North Little Rock, Ark.; two sisters, Para Lee White and Betty Austin, both of Kennett; 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Charlene Solomon.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 23, at the First Pentecostal Church in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, at the First Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Leroy Young officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
