Peggy Jean Hampton, 69, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at her home.
Born Feb. 28, 1934, at Malden, a daughter of the late James Lester and Imogene Daniels Emerson, she was a retired medical secretary. Hampton was a board member and volunteer at the Malden Historical Museum and a volunteer at the Bootheel Youth Museum. She was of the Protestant faith.
On Dec. 12, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., she married Kenneth Dale Hampton who preceded her in death on Sept. 24, 1986.
Surviving are a daughter, Teri Lynn Kratzer and husband, Bill, of Malden; two sons, Jeffery Dale Hampton and wife, Mary, of Copperas Cove, Texas and James Emerson Hampton and wife, Penny, of Lake City, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Nicole Catherine Pace, Benjamin James Hampton, Amy Marie Hampton, John Kenneth Shepherd and Kenneth Daniel Hampton.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 19, at Landess Funeral Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Bob Phillips officiating.
Burial will be in Park Cemetery at Malden.
