Born Feb. 15, 1905, in Hollywood, Mo., son of the late Charlie and Savannah Gray Chipman, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a farmer.
Survivors include three sons, Billy Charles Chipman, of St. Petersburg, Fla., Danny Wayne Chipman, of Chicago, Ill. and Thomas Elzie Chipman, of Jonesboro, Ind.; two daughters, Becky Dunlap, of Brockwell, Ark. and Betty McCurter, of Maynard; 23 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and 16 geat-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Chipman; five brothers; four sisters; one great-grandson and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Tuesday, Oct. 14, at the McNabb Funeral Home Chapel in Pocahontas, Ark. with Dick Riney officiating.
Burial was in the Washington Cemetery at Maynard.
