Luell M. Brown, 87, of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at the Portageville Nursing Center in Portageville, Mo.
Born March 8, 1916, in Cato, Ark., son of the late Robert and Vira Durham Brown, he worked at Betz Tipton Box Company and was of the Pentecostal faith.
He married Helen Mae Walker, who preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 1994. He was also preceded in death by two daughters.
Survivors include to sons, William Joe Brown and Danny Lee Brown and wife, Treen, all of Hayti; six daughters, Mary Ann Gibson and husband, Bobby, Rosa Lee Moore and husband, Bobby and Tereasa Boyce and husband, Larry, all of Caruthersville, Mo., Shirley Ann Peckham and husband, Frank, of Baldwinville, Mass., Lois Marie Springer and husband, Jim, of Memphis, Tenn. and Linda Sue Travis and husband, Dan, of Hayti; two sisters, Lizzie Brantley, of Memphis and Mayme Batton, of St. Louis, Mo.; 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Dwight Chapman officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Bobby and William Gibson, Chris and Sam Moore, Nick Douglas and James Springer.
