Born May 1, 1942, in Senath, Mo., daughter of the late Lee and Florine Doherty Swain, she was a member of the Church of Christ.
On Nov. 23, 1958, in Kennett, she married Richard George, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Ricky George, of Poughkeepsie; three daughters, Pamela Carter and husband, Ben, of Poughkeepsie, Dana Mahmood and husband, Atif, of Mansfield, Texas and Ginger Gamble, of Caraway, Ark.; three brothers, Jerry Doherty, of St. Louis, Mo., Darrell Swain, of Senath and Terry Swain, of Shreveport, La.; three sisters, Jerris Meredith, of Senath and Mary Smotherman and Diane Joymer, both of Paragould, Ark.; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Senath with Greg Pollock officiating .
Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery at Senath.
Pallbearers were Steve Joyner, Jimmie Wilkins, John Raines, George Jordan, Homer Swain, Danny Haddock and Lee Meredith.
