Charlie U. Hollis, 84, of Malden, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Born Aug. 27, 1919, in Corinth, Miss., he was the son of the late Irbin and Roxie Isabella Wilbanks Hollis.
On Jan. 13, 1940, he married Roberta Pauline Parson, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Troy Wyatt and Amy Cravens; one great-grandchild, April Cowart and three brothers, Leon, LeRoy and Hughey Hollis.
Survivors include five sons, William "W.D." Hollis, of Auburn, Kan., J.T. and Daryl Hollis, both of Malden, Larry Hollis, of Statham, Ga. and Charlie Hollis, of Bernie, Mo.; eight daughters, Pauline Rogers, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joy Dean McCoy, of Clarkton, Mo., Lela Wyatt, of St. Mary, Mo., Wanda McDaniel, of Kennett, Donna Cravens, of Auburn, Ga., Debbie Polalrd and Betty Hollis, both of Malden and Carol Hollis, of Risco, Mo.; one sister, Vela Kirk, of Pocahontas, Tenn.; 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. Larry Keith Landers officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
