Bill Like, 84, of Campbell, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at the Hospice Care Center in San Antonio, Texas.
Born March 22, 1919, in Campbell, son of the late William Carl and Lucy Ellen Perkins Like, he was U.S. veteran, having served in WWII, a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
On Nov. 17, 1945, in Piggott, Ark., he married Sylvia Nevada Brandon, who preceded him in death on July 28, 1994. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Dwight, Elmus and Van Like; one son, William C. Like and one granddaughter, Tracy Lynn Knotts.
Survivors include two daughters, LaDonna May Knotts and husband, Richard, of Festus, Mo. and Vikki Leigh Like, of San Antonio; two sisters, Geraldine Lowe, of Modesto, Calif. and Aileene Meadows, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; four grandchildren, Steven and Richie Knotts and Krisit Ijames, all of Festus and Bandi Ledford, of San Antonio and six great-grandchildren, Eric, Chris and Heather Knotts, Rachel and Sylar Smith and Cheyenne Ijames, all of Festus.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Sept. 10, at the Wodlawn Cemetery in Campbell with LaVerne Wright officiating.
Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.
