Ruth G. Pierce, 76, of Steele, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2003 at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Born Feb. 22, 1927 in Red Bay, Ala., daughter of the late Tom and Ethel Creekmore Dees Jackson, she was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
She married Hubert Pierce, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include six grandchildren, Marsha Faye Fisher, of Denton, Mo., Gina Renee Tash, of Lincoln, Maine, Allen DeLaine , Michael and Brian Pierce, all of Steele, and Brent Pierce, of Cardwell, Mo.; two sisters, Gladys Crocker and Dorothy Thorne and husband, Richard, all of Steele; six great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Olan Pierce; two sisters, Opal Miller and Vera Box; three brothers, Cleat, Bud and Lonnie Jackson and one half-brother, Jasper Jackson.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 8 at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with the Rev. Jeremy Damesworth officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Steele. Estle Thomas
Estle Gray Thomas, 82, of Malden died Wednesday, August 6, 2003 at the Malden Nursing Center.
Born Sept. 1, 1920 in Pocahontas, Ark., son of the late Robert Lee and Birdie Bates Thomas, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in W.W.II. and a truck driver. He was a member of the Malden and Poplar Bluff American Legion, Malden VFW, Dexter Eagles and Dexter Elks.
Survivors include one daughter, Diana Thomas of Florida.
Visitation will be from noon til 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 9 at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden.
