Eddie Jones

Eddie Louise Jones, 41, of Steele, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 8, 2003 at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born January 17, 1962, in Micola, Mo., daughter of Pearlie Ree Joyner Sanders of Gobler, Mo., and the late Tommy L. Sanders, she was formerly employed by VNA as a home health worker and was presently working in that field in a private duty capacity. She was a member of the House of Prayer in Hayti, Mo.

On August 8, 1996, in Blytheville, Ark., she married Elmira Jones, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include three daughters, Marishia Sanders, of Steele, Timicko Tolivar, of Sardis, Miss. and Starkittkuss Thompson, of Como, Miss.; four sons, Bobby and Tommy Sanders, both of Caruthersville, Mo., Rodrelle Sanders of Sikeston, Mo., and Rufus Sanders, of Steele; one brother, Bobby Joyner, of Gobler, Mo.; one sister, Gracie Sanders, of Steele; one half sister, Diane Wilbourn, of Kennett; a step-sister, Camillia Moore, of Hayti and 21 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, at the Morgan Ridge Cemetery in Caruthersville with Pastor Ralph Amerson officiating.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of the arrangements.

Daniel Masterson

Daniel Thomas Masterson, 74, of Kennett, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at Missouri Delta Hospital in Sikeston, Mo.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Enoch McCarty officiating.

Ruby Mitchem

Ruby Beatrice Mitchem, 67, of Bloomsdale, Mo., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at St. Genevieve Hospital.

Born March 9, 1936, in Risco, Mo., daughter of the late Fred and Zona Fowler Simmons, she was a housewife.

She was married to Curtis Mitchem, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include three sons, Fred Mitchem, of St. Louis, Mo. and David Mitchem, Sr. and Joe Mitchem, both of Bloomsdale; one daughter, Regina Crossland, of Bloomsdale; one brother, Willie Simmons, of Williamsburg, Mo.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon and Jim Simmons and two sisters, Lucille Gilbern Simmons and Mary Estes.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home in Hayti.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at the Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Paul Quinn officiating.

Burial will follow in the Dry Bayou Cemetery at Hayti.

Percy Privett

Percy Privett, 80, of Holland, Mo., died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003, at Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti, Mo.

Born Sept. 3, 1922, son of the late Turner and Isabell Johns Privett, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a T.V. repairman. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda Floyd and husband, Billy, of Caruthersville, Mo.; one step-son, Jerry Rice, Sr., of Millington, Tenn.; one sister, Gracie Story, of Rector, Ark.; seven granddaughters, Diane Frazier, of Memphis, Tenn., Kathy Robinson, of Fulton, Miss., Krissie Payne, of Cooter, Mo., Missie Bridges, of Illinois and Michelle Floyd, Maureen Johnson and Tammy Burnheimer, all of Dyersburg, Tenn. and two grandsons, Jerry Rice, Jr., of Marion, Ark. and Timothy Burnheimer, of Dyersburg.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Burnheimer and five brothers, Fred, Frank, Browder, J.C. and Levi.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Aug. 14, at the Bradshaw-Powell Funeral Home Chapel in Steele, Mo. with the Rev. Sherman Griggs officiating.

Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele.
