Adam Hays

Adam Boyce Hays, 19, of Campbell, Mo., died today, Aug. 15, 2003, at Campbell.

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.

Eldon Huckabee

Eldon Huckabee, 55, of Senath, Mo., died Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, at the Senath Nursing Center.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath.

Melford Kincade

Melford R. "Bub" Kincade, 83, of Bethalto, Ill., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003 at Alton Memorial Hospital in Alton, Ill.

Born September 10, 1919 in Malden, Mo., son of the late Jesse James and Lila Narcissus Vaughn Kincade, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII and worked in the casting department at Laclede Steel.

On June 21, 1947 in Piggott, Ark., he married Vivian Louise Brown Kincade, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include one son, Dennis M. Kincade and wife, Dana, of Bethalto; one granddaughter, Marci Shirley, of Bethalto; one grandson, Dustin Kincade, of Bethalto; one great-granddaughter, Michaela Shirley and three sisters, Unis Wagoner of Burton, Mich., Uldean Lambert and husband, Bill, of Campbell, Mo. and Freda Gavin and husband, Tom, of Malden.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lonzo Kincade and Jesse Kincade, Jr.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Aug. 15, at Elias Smith Funeral Homes and Crematory in Bethalto. Visitation will continue on Saturday, Aug. 16, at Bethalto Church of God from 10 a.m to 11 a.m.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Bethalto Church of God with Rev. Jesse Wiggins officiating.

Burial with full military rites by Alton VFW Post 1308 Ritual Team will be held at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to Bethalto Church of God Music Department.

Daniel Masterson

Daniel Thomas Masterson, 74, of Kennett, died Monday, Aug. 4, 2003 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

Born March 18, 1929, in Kennett, son of the late Daniel T. Sr., and Myrtle Looney Masterson, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a cable splicer for the Telephone Co.

Survivors include one daughter, Gail Barry Rogers, of Evansville, Tenn.; three brothers, Russell P., Robert E. and Jesse D. Masterson; one grandson, Joshua A. Taleno, of Evansville and two step-grandsons, Jonahan and David Rogers, both of Evansville.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, G., John C. and Lewis Alvin Masterson and two sisters, Dorothy Barnes and Jeanetta Turner.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Enoch McCarty officiating.

Burial will be at a later date.

Oliver Riggs Jr.

Oliver Loren Riggs, Jr., 78, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2003 at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff.

Born October 26, 1924, in Senath, Mo., he was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving in WWII, a bread salesman for Harts Bread and a member of the Teamster Union.

On October 30, 1948 in Piggott, Ark., he married Charlene Griffin, who preceded him in death in 2000.

Survivors include two sons, Greg Riggs, of Poplar Bluff and Oliver L. Riggs III, of Williamsburg, Va.; one daughter, LaNan Pitts, of Joplin, Mo.; one brother, Rodney Riggs, of Kennett and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home in Poplar Bluff.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 16, at the Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Hoyt officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Poplar Bluff.

Josie Seaman

Josie McLain Seaman, 86, of Kennett, died today, Friday, Aug. 15, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 17, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Greg Pollock officiating.

Burial will follow at the Senath Cemetery.
