Grover Gargus, Jr.
Grover Allison Gargus, Jr., 69. of Troy, Tenn., died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at his residence.
Born Aug. 12, 1933, in Hayti, Mo., son of the late Grover Allison Gargus, Sr. and Ruth McCoy Gargus, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Protemus Presbyterian Church in Troy. He was a job setter and union steward at the Chrysler Corporation for 30 years.
In 1969, he married Lula Milligan, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include four daughters, Carolyn Brooks, of Kennett, Ruthie McKeiver, of Lorell, Ind., Tonja Cottingham, of Gas City, Ind. and Marsha Hoillier, of Coppars Cove, Texas; three sons, Larry Gargus, of Kennett, Allen Gargus, of Mill springs, N.C. and Mark Gargus, of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Shirley Lopez, of California and Carma Jean Collins, of Michigan; one half-brother, James Gargus, of California; two step-brothers, Denny Fry, of California and Jackie Fry, of Michigan; 18 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 6, at the Protemus Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Troy with James Robert Gunter officiating.

Leatrice Davie Harris, 63, of Risco, Mo., died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at the Ridgeview Nursing Center.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.
Burial will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden.
Troy Hart, 72, of Tallapoosa, Mo., died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born July 9, 1930, in Pemiscot County, Mo., son of the late William and Lou Davenport Hart, he was a farmer and a member of the Pentecostal Holliness Church in Tallapoosa.
On Sept. 4, 1964, he married Pauline Price, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include six sons, Fred and Dean Price, both of Tallapoosa, Raymond Price, of Caruthersville, Mo., Eugene Price, of Dexter, Mo., Frank Price, of Gideon, Mo. and Jessie Price, of Bernie, Mo.; two sisters, Clara Rudd, of Wardell, Mo. and Willie Petty, of Ellington, Mo.; two brothers, Tommy Hart, of Puxico, Mo. and Frankie Hart, of Lilbourn, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers; two sisters and one son.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, June 5, at the John W. German Funral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Wayne Gilmore officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were his grandsons.
