James Green, Jr.

James Cooper Green, Jr., 56, of Hudson, Fla., formerly of Caruthersville, Mo., died Sunday, June 1, 2003, at his residence.

Born Jan.7, 1947, in Kennett, son of the late James Cooper, Sr. and Annabell Ghyers Green, he was in the construction business as a general contractor and a member of the Kinfolks Ridge Baptist Church. He was a 3rd degree mason.

On June 17, 1974, he married Linda Copeland, who survives of the home. Survivors also include four sons, Donnie and Shane Green, both of Caruthersville, Johnny Green, of Clarksville, Ark. and Jamie Green, of Port Richey, Fla.; one daughter, Jackie Eschete, of Houma, La.; one sister, Kwajalein Needham, of Blytheville, Ark. and 10 grandchildren.

Graveside services were held Thursday, June 5, at the Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville with Dr. James Adams officiating.

Pallbearers were Terry W. Copeland, Sr., Michael Emery, Ryan Hopgood, Billy L. Vanderpool, Chris Cummings, Michael D. Conn, Kevin Owens and Shane Green.

H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in chage of arrangements.

Leatrice Harris

Leatrice Davis Harris, 63, of Risco, Mo., died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at the Ridgeview Nursing Center in Malden, Mo.

Born Jan. 27, 1940, in Sunflower, Miss., daughter of the late John and Rosie Pearson Davis, she was custodian at Risco School.

On Dec. 21, 1959, in Indianola, Miss., she married Clinton Harris, Jr., who survives of the home.

Survivors also include three sons, Johnny L. Davis, of Malden, Clinton Harris, Jr., of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. and Don Harris, of Jonesboro, Ark.; five daughters, Annie Lee Harris, of Fort Leonard Wood, Freddie Harris, of Risco, Claudia Harris, of Jonesboro, Annie Pearl Harris, of Sikeston, Mo. and Frances Harris Webster, of Wahlawa, Hawaii; one sister, Earstine Davis, of Illinois; two brothers, John L. Davis, of Mississippi and John Michael Davis, of Illinois; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at the Badshaw Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gene Lancaster officiating.

Burial will follow at the Macedonia Cemetery in Malden.
