Jessie Chailland

Jessie Olin Chailland, 84, of Kennett, died Friday, July 25, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born June 17, 1919, in Caruth, Mo., he was the son of the late Fred Edgar and Vallie V. Thompson Chailland.

Survivors include three sons, Jerry Tom Chailland, of Kennett, Freddie Joe Chailland, of Russellville, Ark., and Frankie Loys Chailland, of Tupelo, Miss.; two daughters, Betsy Jean Walls and Nancy Lynn Nichols, both of Kennett; one sister, Emma Jo Horner, of Kennett; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Celestia Jane Chailland and Janet Sue Clark and one brother, Fred Eugene Chailland.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 28, at the McDaniel Funral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.

Burial was in the Liberty Cemetery at Caruth.

Pallbearers were Tom Chailland, Jr., Steve Chailland, Jason Nichols, Gary Walls, Jr., Chris Clark and Jack Clark, Jr.

Porcial Jansson

Porcial L. Jansson, 80, of Kennett, formerly of Fletcher, Okla., died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born March 14, 1923, in Ringgold, Texas, daughter of the late Hubert L. and Lillian Esther Whorton Kilcrease, she was employed at TDS Telecom and was a member of the Fletcher First Baptist Church.

Survivors include one son, Rev. Karl Edward Jansson III and wife, Judy, of Kennett; two daughters, Deborah Elliott and husband, Mike and Kathi Morgan, all of Denver, Colo.; one brother, H.L. Kilcrease, Jr., of Conroe, Texas; two sisters, Adele Cole and husband, Dale, of Elgin, Okla. and Yvonne Kenney and husband, Ron, of Aurora, Colo.; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 28, at the First Baptist Church in Fletcher, Okla. with the Rev. Randy McFarland and Mike Tompkins officiating.

Burial was in the Fletcher Cemetery.

Robbins Funeral Home of Fletcher was in charge of arrangements.

Ollie Jones

Ollie Riggs Jones, 83, of Overland, Mo., formerly of Senath, Mo., died Sunday, July 27, 2003, at the Woodland Nursing Home in Maryland Heights, Mo.

Visitation will be from 11 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 1, at the McGrew Cemetery in Senath.

James McCrary

Rev. James McCrary, 86, of Kennett, died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at National Health Care in Kennett.

Born Nov. 12, 1916, in Montgomery, Ala., son of the late William F. and Eunice A. Gladney McCrary, he was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in WWII. He was a minister and a member of the First Baptist Church.

On March 9, 1943, he married Lois Behrens, who preceded him in death on April 16, 2001.

Survivors include one son, Michael McCrary, of Sarasota, Fla. and two grandchildren, Amanda Travis, of Cape Canaveral, Fla. and Alisha Cole McCrary, of Deland, Fla.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, July 29, at the First Baptist Church in Steele, Mo., with the Rev. James Mousie officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Jack Brooks, George Cooke, David Haggard, Steve Lightfoot, Bobby Powell and Wilburn Proctor.

Arlene Louise Shye, 73, of Hornersville, Mo., died Saturday, July 26, 2003, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Aug. 6, 1929, in Skokie, Ill., daughter of the late Carl and Emily Linderman Miller, she was a waitress and a member of the Trinity Community Church in Cardwell, Mo.

On Sept. 25, 1945, she married Carl Shuye, Sr., of Chicago, Ill.

Survivors also include three sons, Carl Dennis Shye, Jr. and Gary Keslie Shye, both of Jonesboro, Ark. and David Lee Shye, of Chicago, Ill.; three daughters, Carol Webb, of Wonder Lake, Ill., Corrine Johnson, of Hornersville and Kathleen Riveria, of Chicago; one brother, Donald Miller; 18 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Shawn Shye and one sister, Laverne Huff.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, July 29, at the Trinity Community Church with the Rev. Kevin Knox officiating.

Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery at Senath, Mo.

Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home of Hornersville was in charge of arrangements.
