Lillian Boone

Lillian Mae Boone, 93, of Holcomb, Mo., died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at National HealthCare Center in Kennett. Born May 13, 1908, in Manila, Ark., daughter of the late Thomas and Margie Smithson, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She married Bonnie W. Boone, who preceded her in death on March 16, 1974. Survivors include two daughters, Rocina Parker and Chris Sellers and husband Jim, all of Kennett; three sons, Tom Wilson and wife, Linda, of Malden, Mo., Charles Wilson and wife, Judy and Jim Wilson and wife, Kay, all of Holcomb; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Irene Wilson; one son, Billy Gene Wilson; two brothers, Ray and Cecil Smithson and one sister, Dixie Davidson. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 29, at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo. with Gaylon Mullins officiating. Landess Funeral Home of Campbell was in charge of arrangements.

Robert Brock

Robert Oscar Brock, 80, of Senath, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 24, 2001, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett. Born Aug. 30, 1920, in Poe, Mo., he was the son of the late John and Nancy Dean Brock. On April 13, 1940, he married Mae A. Bledsoe, who survives of the home. Survivors also include two sons, Donald Earl Brock and wife, Cora Nell and Garry Robert Brock and wife, Dabbie, all of Kennett; two daughters, Frances A. Brock and Barbara J. Spence and husband, Donald, all of Senath; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ed and Eugene Brock; two sisters, Nadine Armon and Eva Clark and eight other siblings that died in infancy and one grandchild. Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 27, at the Assembly of God Church in Senath with Revs. Virgil Weaks and Jerry Pruitt officiating. Burial was in the Senath Cemetery. Pallbearers were Allen Jones, Charles Parker, John Mungle, Allen Brewer, Wally Brown and Vernon Stoker. Honorary pallbearers were Carl Watson, Jessie Sherrod, George P. Harris, Wayne Wilkison, Fred Milligan and Carlos Holligan. McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.

Jim Brown

Jim Brown, 85, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at Three Rivers Healthcare South Campus in Poplar Bluff, Mo. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell with Bro. Mark Book officiating.

Geneva Cates

Geneva Marie Cates, 81, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell. Born Oct. 29, 1919, in Pollard, Ark., daughter of the late Thomas William and Sylvia Alice Adami Maples, she was a homemaker, a member of the Campbell General Baptist Church and the Rebekah Lodge No. 845 in Campbell. On June 6, 1940, in Kennett, she married Allen Arnold, Jr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 8, 1964. She later married Joseph Lafayette Cates on Jan. 4, 1969, in Campbell. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1997. Survivors include two nephews, Jerry Maples, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and William Maples, of Wappapello, Mo.; one niece, Mary Maples, of Poplar Bluff; five step-daughters, Francis Bankston, of San Antonio, Texas, Evelyn Allen and Myrna Noble, both of Malden, Mo., Agnes Allen, of Clarkton, Mo. and Kathryn Nichols, of Qulin, Mo.; two step-sons, Russell Cates, of House Springs, Mo. and Lewis Cates, of Campbell and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son, Carlos Allen Arnold; two brothers, Melvin Riley and Cletis Eugene Maples; one sister, Alberta Lee and one step-daughter, Juey Davidson. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Beals officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Gilead Cemetery in Clarkton.

Glenn Fuller

Glenn Fuller, 71, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark. Funeral arrangements are incomplete with the McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett.
