Marion Cook

Marion M. "Red" Cook, 70, of Topeka, Kan., formerly of Kennett, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at his residence. Born Dec. 1, 1930, in Dunklin County, son of the late Finus D. and Laura Winchester Cook, he worked for the Shawnee County Refuse Department and the City of Topeka, until his retirement.

Survivors include one daughter, Lois J. Cook Marcum, of Topeka; one son, Simon L. Cook, of Topeka; two step-daughters, Cindy Evarts, of Topeka and Rita Dickens, of Perry, Ga.; one step-son, Albert Mason, of Topeka; two brothers, Jerry and Donald Myers, both of Kennett; two sisters, Anna "Mickey" Hobbs and Rosalee Myers, both of Kennett; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dayton E. Cook; two brothers, Paul and Gene Cook and one sister, Patsy Myers. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Davidson Funeral Home in Topeka.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Davidson Funeral Home.

Ida Alice Culp, 101, of St. Francis, Ark., died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2001, at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Mo.

Born Aug. 24, 1900, in Clifton, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Mary Elizabeth Kelley Ham. On Dec. 24, 1916, she married Willie Curtis Culp, who preceded her in death on Sept. 19, 1972.

Survivors include one son, Johnie Culp and wife, Dovie, of Malden, Mo.; one sister, Bonnie Cole, of Kennett; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by one son, Woodrow Culp; one infant daughter, Imogene Culp; two brothers, Arnold and Johnie Ham and four sisters, Dora Light, Bertha Ferguson, Mary Denton and Carrie Culp.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Ark.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Willyne Thompson and Kevin Morris officiating.

Burial will follow in the Hall Cemetery at St. Francis, Ark. Ollie Patterson

Ollie Patterson, 92, of Madison, Miss., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at his residence.

Born Oct. 30, 1908, in Carrier Mills, Ill., son of the late Benjamin Charlie and Ada Caseboon Patterson, he was a salesman for L.K. Ashcraft Wholesale and later worked at the G.H. Gossard Factory, both formerly located in Malden and a member of the First Christian Church in Malden.

On July 6, 1929, in Poplar Bluff, Mo., he married Gladys Pauline Riddle , who preceded him in death on Dec. 19, 1996.

Survivors include two sons, Jerry V. Patterson, of Gulf Breeze, Fla. and Alan Dale Patterson, of Madison; one brother, Victor Patterson, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; one sister, Betty Jo Bailey, of Cape Girardeau; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Glen Graham officiating.

Burial will follow in the Park Cemetery at Malden. Iris Wicker

Iris Bratton Wicker, 77, of Bellingham, Wash., formerly of Kennett, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bellingham.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be hed at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Lanning officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett. Martha Yarbrough

Martha Yarbrough, 90, of Steele, Mo., died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at the Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born April 22, 1911, in Red Star, Ark., daughter of the late Elijah Hilure and Rhoda Herrod Wood, she was a homemaker and a member of the Denton Assembly of God Church in Denton, Mo. She married William Earl Yarbrough, who preceded her in death.

Survivors include one daughter, Marie Howell, of Steele; one son, William Earl "Bill" Yarbrough, of Bryon, Ohio; one sister, Dora Hobbs, of Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home in Steele.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home with Revs. Gerald Moss and Charles Clark officiating.

Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele.
