Willis Collier, Sr.

Willis James Collier, Sr., 73, of Wardell, Mo., died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at National HealthCare in Kennett.

Born June 8, 1928, in Armorel, Ark., son of the late Ed and Mozella Bass Collier, he was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.

On Nov. 27, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., he married Jestene Smith, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include six sons, Willie James Collier, Jr., of Rochester, NY., Mose Ed Collier, of Malden, Mo., Ervin O'Neil Collier, of Carbondale, Ill., Roger Wayne Collier, of Lincoln, Neb., Gregory Dean Collier, of Warner Robins, Ga. and Calvin Ray Collier, of St. Louis, Mo.; four daughters, Thelma Lee Gates, of Hayti, Mo., Reepie Joe Edmond, of Wardell, Deborah Joyce Johnson, of Columbus, Ga. and Etta Faye Bivens, of Marietta, Ga.; three brothers, T.C. and Willie D. Collier, both of Robbins, Ill. and Robert Parr, of Benton Harbor, Mich.; nine sisters, Irene Watson, Earlene Bratton, Ruth Anderson and Mattie Williams, all of St. Louis, Vernida Barnes, of Wardell, Roxie Howard and Jacquelyn Bell, both of Tacoma, Wash. and Olivia Chandler and Velma Hughes, both of Benton Harbor; 43 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Willie Jean Collier and Annete Louise Collier.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at St. Paul Baptist Church in Homestown, Mo.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the St. Paul Baptist Church with the Rev. Emmanuel Lofton officiating.

Burial will follow at the Homestown Cemetery.

Thelma Mullen, 89, of Kennett, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 19, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Fox officiating. Royal Sanders

Royal Sanders, 86, of Blytheville, Ark., died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.

Born in Blytheville, son of the late Robert L. and Arelia Crawford Sanders, he was a farmer, a member of the Steele School Board and Pemiscot County School Board and a member of the First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife, Imogene Gaines Sanders, of Blytheville; three sons, L.W. Sanders, of Little Rock, Ark., Gary Sanders, of Steele, Mo. and John L. Sanders, of Kennett; one daughter, Rebecca Young, of Blytheville; one sister, Bernice Holmes, of Palm Springs, Calif; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today, Friday, Oct. 19, at the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel in Blytheville with the Rev. Ken Stallings officiating.

Burial was in the Elmwood Cemetery.

Ruth A. Shands, 88, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died today, Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Thomas Hale officiating.

Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett. Beulah Skaggs

Beulah C. Skaggs, 98, of Campbell, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Ark.

Born July 15, 1903, in Campbell, daughter of the late Albert Anderson and Maylissie Jane Grimes McIntosh, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

On Sept. 13, 1918, she married Wilburt Louis Skaggs, who preceded her in death on Dec. 23, 1985

Survivors include one daughter, Aileen Skaggs Brasher, of Campbell.

She was preceded in death by five brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 19, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Schlager officiating.

Burial will follow in the Elder Cemetery at Campbell. Iris Wicker

Iris Bratton Wicker, 77, of Bellingham, Wash., formerly of Kennett, died Monday, Oct. 15, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bellingham.

Born Oct. 23, 1923, in Houston, Texas, daughter of the late Chelsea and Mary Lawson Bratton, she worked in the Dunklin County Surveyor's office and the County Tax Assessor's office in St. Charles County.

On Oct. 17, 1944, she married G.R. "Bud" Wicker, who preceded her in death on Oct. 2, 1971.

Survivors include one son, William Bratton Wicker, of Bellingham; one daughter, Teresa Wicker Campbell, of Atlanta, Ga. and two grandchildren, Katherine Lawson Wicker and William B. Wicker, Jr., both of Mississippi.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 19, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Lanning officiating.

Burial will follow in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
