Ruth Audrey Shands, 88, of Jonesboro, Ark., and formerly of Holcomb, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro.
Born Sept. 26, 1913, in Molino, Mo., daughter of the late William Edgar and Cora Edith Barks St. Clair, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holcomb.
She married Wesley A. Shands, who preceded her in death April 12, 1959. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, John and Chester St. Clair and one sister, Eunice Fisher.
Survivors include two daughters, Aletrus Shands Kennedy of Jonesboro and Ruth Ann Shands Mills of Camdenton, Mo.; three sisters, Bertha Holligan of Kennett, Geneva Parish of Farmington, Mo. and Nina Simpson of Merrill, Ore.; one brother, the Rev. Edgar J. St. Clair of Ironton, Mo.; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Oct. 21, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Thomas Hale officiating.
Burial will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.
Pallbearers are John and Bryan Mills, Mark Davidson, Mike Overall and Jonathan and Jordan Hale.
Honorary pallbearers are John and Sammy T. Fisher and Jason Coleman.

Thelma Mullen, 89, of Kennett, Mo., died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.
Born Feb. 1, 1912, in Russellville, Ky., daughter of the late Herbert E. and Lenora Thornton Casbier, she was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Kennett and a former member of the United Methodist Church in Senath.
On Jan. 6, 1931, she marred Thurman E. Mullen in West Helena, Ark. He preceded her in death Feb. 10, 1958.
Survivors include one son, Thurman E. Mullen of Bartlett, Tenn., one daughter, Edna Hodges and her husband, Ed, of Kennett; one sister, Maurine Pollard of LaGrange, Ky.; five grandchildren, Christopher Mullen and Kimberly Mullen Glover of Nashville, Tenn.; Jeanie Hodges Stewart of Hayti, Mo., Joan Hodges Horton of Kennett and Dr. Janet Sue Hodges of Haslett, Texas; seven great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Bill Fox officiating.
Burial was in the Senath Cemetery in Senath.
Pallbearers were Bob and Ed Horton, Rick Stewart, Doug Tefft, Mike Pierce and Edwin Bradley.

Marie Whithead, 84, of Arbryd, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, at Senath Nursing Center.
Funeral services are today, Sunday, Oct. 21, in the Arbyrd Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Cureton officiating.
Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
