Irene Bell

Irene Bell, 79, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at her residence.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Bud Evans officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett is in charge of arrangements.

Emma Bogue

Emma Bogue, 76, of Kennett, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Feb. 17, 1925, in DeSota, Mo., she was the daughter of the late John and Hanna Mundanick Gowan.

She married Franklin Harold Bogue, who preceded her in death on Nov. 3, 1998.

Survivors include one brother, Fritz Gowan, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. and one sister, Marie Herrington, of Kennett.

She was preceded in death by one brother, John Gowan, Sr.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. today, Wednesday, Nov., 14, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ben Jordan officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers were Tom Noah, Tim Simmons, Dan Baird, Wimp Tackleberry, Bud Broadway and John Lyle.

William Davis, Jr.

William C. Davis, Jr., 34, of San Antonio, Texas, died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in San Antonio.

Born Nov. 10, 1966, in Nacogdoches, Texas, he was the son of Dianne Creel, of Steele, Mo. and the late William C. Davis, Sr.

Survivors also include two sisters, Thyra Lee, of Steele and Chayla Hamilton, of Metairie, La.; one brother, Gregory Davis, of Denver, Colo.; his grandmother, Dovie Absher, of Peaster, Texas; four uncles, six aunts and his life companion, Pilar Correa.

Memorial services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Roy Akers Funeral Chapels in San Antonio.

Hattie Earls

Hattie LaVennia Rikard Earls, 79, of Kennett, died Monday, Nov. 12, 2001, at the Northeast Arkansas Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born Dec. 20, 1921, in Hornersville, Mo., daughter of the late Amanuel and Hattie Mills Rickard, she was a homemaker, a charter member of the Bootheel Area Senior Citizens where she served as secretary of the Board of Directors for over 15 years. She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church.

On April 15, 1940, she married James Hassell Chailland, Jr., who preceded her in death. She later married A.J. Earls on June 29, 1963, in Braggadocio, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two sons, Donald Chailland, of New Orleans, La. and James Hassell Chailland and wife, Connie Jo, of Wentzville, Mo.; one daughter, Charlotte Gore and husband, Paul, of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Francis Marie Bowman and husband, Jess, of St. Peters, Mo.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, seven brothers and four sisters.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Revs. Jim Lewis and J. Daniel Fulbright officiating.

Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele, Mo.

Pallbearers were Jaime, Mitch and Tony Chailland, Robert Long, Brock Atwill, Dale Beatty and Jerry Davis.

Memorials may be made to the Shady Grove Baptist Church.

Carnell Sowell

Carnell Sowell, 84, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.

Visitation wil be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 14, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
