Irene Bell, 79, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at her residence.
Born Jan. 11, 1922, in Shirley, Ark., daughter of the late John Rue Allen and Ida Melissa Gooden Williams, she was a charter member of the Third Street Baptist Church in Kennett.
On May 25, 1940, in Caruthersville, Mo., she married Elvis Bell, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Michael Bell and wife, Judy, of Springfield, Mo.; one daughter, Rebecca Chailland and husband, Butch, of Caruth, Mo.; one brother, Bruce Williams, of Paragould, Ark.; one sister, Betty Garner, of Valdosta, Ga.; four grandchildren, Scott Chailland, of Stewart, Fla., Brett Chailland, of Caruth, Michael Bell, of Kennett and Amy Scheihing, of Springfield; eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Link and Carl Williams and two sisters, Jean Dalton and Grace Taylor.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Bud Evans officiating.
Pallbearers were Mike Mowrer, Tommy Kelley, Keith Kirby, Rick and Mike Bell and Brett Chailland.

Macle Louise Ford Davidson, 69, of Florissant, Mo., died Friday, Nov. 9, 2001, at St. Sophia Health & Rehabilitation in Florissant.
Born June 24, 1932, in Braggadocio, Mo., daughter of the late John Theodore and Mettie Florence Jowers Ford, she attended Braggadocio Schools.
On Sept. 12, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., she married Lee L. Davidson, who preceded her in death on June 10, 1991.
urvivors include one daughter, Dotty Hohlt, of Hazelwood, Mo.; two sons, Kelvin Davidson, of Hazelwood and Jeffrey Davidson, of Ferguson, Mo. and one granddaughter, Shannon Taylor, of Florissant.
She was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville, Mo. with Dr. James Adams officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vernon Purser officiating.

Carnell Sowell, 84, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2001, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Born Nov. 9, 1917, in Kennett, he was the son of the late Arthur Edward and Rosie Mae Evans Mills.
On March 28, 1936, he married Pleas Sowell, who preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 1994.
Survivors include one son, Bob Sowell and wife, Laurie, of Kennett; two granddaughters, Emily Dawn and Amy Elizabeth Sowell, both of Jonesboro, Ark. and three sisters, Julia Maxine Yadon, of Ardmore, Okla., Joyce Nutt, of Benton, Miss. and Carol Burns, of Homa La.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Bud Mills.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 15, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Les Jackson and Elder Short Walker officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Elders Kingston, Strana, Endischee, Saunders, Siaosi and Christiansen.
