Rev. Otis Allen

Rev. Otis Monroe Allen, 85, of Malden, Mo., formerly of Greenville, Ky., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Saint Francis Regional Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born Feb. 28, 1916, in Butler County, Ken., son of the late Sion Bass and Flora Mae Jernigan Allen, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII, retired from the Chrysler Corporation, retired Gneral Baptist Minister and a member of the Duvall's General Baptist Church in Greenville.

On Sept. 18, 1943, in Muhlenberg County, Ky., he married Ruby Nell Luckett, who survives of the home.

Survivors also include two daughters, Judy Cowsert and husband, Jim and Barbara Coons and husband, Jack, all of Malden; three sons, Darrell Allen, of Belton, Ky., Wayne Allen, of Louisville, Ky. and Rick Allen, of Malden; three sisters, Martha Cobb, of Los Alamos, N.M., Ruth McDonald, of Greenville and Edna Shamblin, of Arab, Ala.; seven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Adren, Arthur, Sion Lee and Andrew B. Allen and three sisters, Grace Jernigan, Nora Maxberry and Anna McDonald.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Gary's Funeral Home in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, at the Duvall's Chapel General Baptist Church in Greenville with Bro. Ken Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville.

Marjorie Bentley

Marjorie Bentley, 88, of Lapeer, Mich., formerly of Kennett, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2001, at her residence.

Born Aug. 7, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Louie and Clara Hunt Stier.

On May 9, 1935, she married William J. Bentley, who preceded her in death on March 22, 1977.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandra J. Fagan, of Flint, Mich. and Sonya K. Newman, of Kennett; one son, William J. Bentley, of Holland, Mich.; two granddaughters, Melissa K. Calvert, of Flushing, Mich. and Jennifer Newman Gurley, of Kennett and four great-grandchildren, Collette and Mallory Calvert, of Flushing and Carlee Kay and Caleb George Gurley, both of Kennett.

A memorial service will be held in Lapeer in Janaury, 2002.

Jimmy Bogle

Jimmy Bogle, 44, of Kennett, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2001, at his residence.

Beatrice Chamberlain

Beatrice Chamberlain, 96, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Larry Wayne Clark, 44, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Satrday, Dec. 1, 2001, in Memphis, Tenn.

Born Feb. 1, 1957, in Hayti, Mo., son of Doris Jarred, of Caruthersville and the late J.C. Clark, he was a welder at the shipyard in Caruthersville.

Survivors also include two sisters, Carol McPhail, of Hayward, Mo. and Mona Guy, of Caruthersville and other relatives.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the Jesus Name Tabernacle Church in Caruthersville with the Rev. Dale Dormer officiating.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.

John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti was in charge of arrangements.

Virgie Dinwiddle

Virgie Dinwiddle, 86, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 2, 2001, at the National Health Care Center in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the Progressive Church of God in Christ in Caruthersville with Elder Roosevelt Martin officiating.

Burial will follow at the Morgan Ridge Cemetery in Caruthersville.

Bradshaw-Osburn Funeral Home of Hayti, Mo., is in charge of arrangements.

Don Kessinger

Don Kessinger, 48, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2001, at Campbell.

Born Jan. 1, 1953, in West Plains, Mo., son of Florence Elizabeth Caplinger Kessinger, of West Plains and the late Raymond Mack Kessinger, he was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and co-owner of Ms. Henry's Restaurant. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include two sons, Matt and Heath Kessinger, both of Campbell; seven sisters, Mary Beth Marsh, of West Plains, Hetta Bivens, of Sherwood, Ark., Linda Wells, of Monticello, Ark., Bonnie Milam, of Bauxite, Ark., Debbie Newby and Anna Lisemby, both of White Hall, Ark. and Ginger Chambliss, of Star City, Ark. and one brother, David Kessinger, of White Hall.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Guy Wayne Kessinger.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 6, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains with the Rev. Richard Wright officiating.

Burial will follow with full military rites at the New Liberty Cemetery in West Plains.

Rachel Kirby, 88, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at National Health Care Center in Kennett.
