Wit Ethridge

Wit Daniel Ethridge, 85, of Kennett, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at National HealthCare in Kennett.

Born Sept. 28, 1916, in Henderson, Tenn., he was the son of the late Ben and Lillie Creasy Ethridge.

He married Mae Clark, who preceded him in death on Sept. 2, 1990.

Survivors include one brother, Lon Ethridge, of Phoenix, Ariz. and one sister, Betty Nelson, of Kennett.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 17, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Chuck Hardy and Allen Ethridge officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Harold, Fred, Ray and Alex Ethridge, Steve Anglin and Dennis Nelson.

Kathyrine Griffin

Kathyrine Griffin, 85, of St. Louis, Mo., formerly of Arbyrd, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 15, 2001, at St. Louis.

Born March 28, 1916, in Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late William "Bill" and Alice Hayes Proffer.

On March 28, 1937, in Kennett, she married Gean Griffin, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by 12 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Mike Griffin and wife, Laura, of St. Louis and Gean Griffin and wife, Mary Ann, of Godfrey, Ill.; one daughter, Diane Brewer and husband, Glenn, of Pryor, Okla.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the Arbyrd Baptist Church with the Rev. Alan Cureton officiating.

Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.

Oberlon Isbell

Oberlon Isbell, 90, of Campbell, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Oct. 10, 1911, in Yuma, Tenn., daughter of the late Dolphus Monroe and Nolie King Holmes, she was a homemaker and a member of the Campbell General Baptist Church.

On May 26, 1928, in Piggott, Ark., she married Melvin Charles Isbell, who preceded her in death on Nov. 27, 1980. She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Isbell; one grandson, Melvin Kent Isbell; two sisters and three brothers.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Campbell, of Kennett and Dixie Hogan and husband, Delmar, of Campbell; two sons, O.L. Isbell and wife, Kay, of Ozark, Mo. and Jim Isbell and wife, Debbie, of Williamsville, Mo.; two brothers, L.D. Holmes, of Hemet, Calif. and Joy Wayne Holmes, of Senath, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Earl D. Dell officiating.

Burial will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.

Gary Medlin

Gary Wayne Medlin, 42, of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001, at his residence.

Born Dec. 19, 1958, in Kennett, son of Bob and Maxine Williams Medlin, of Malden, he was a carpenter.

Survivors also include one son, Christopher Medlin, of Kennett; two brothers, Jim Medlin and wife, Jan, of St. Peters, Mo. and Larry Medlin and wife, Kim, of Malden; three nephews, Jimmy, Derek and Justin Medlin and one niece, Allison Medlin.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 20, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Shoup officiating.

Burial will follow at the Rosewood Cemetery-1st Addition in Malden.

Donnie Morris

Donnie Gene Morris, 48, of Cameron, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Friday, Dec. 14, 2001, at Cameron.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 20, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Theresa Ivy officiating.

Burial will follow at the Gregory Cemetery in Kennett.

Brenda Smith

Brenda Smith, 57, of Mountain Home, Ark., formerly of Senath, Mo., died Tuesday, Dec. 18, at the Southcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Okla.

Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, at the Providence Baptist Church in Kennett with the Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating.

Burial will follow at the Senath Cemetery.

Ella Usrey

Ella Usrey, 85, of Kennett, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at National HealthCare in Kennett.

Born Feb. 24, 1916, in Senath, Mo., daughter of the late Andrew J. and Mary Cowgill Cross, she was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Kennett.

On Jan. 13, 1931, she married Walter Usrey, who preceded her in death on June 12, 1991. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Shelby Jean Usrey; two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include four sons, Billy Wayne Usrey, of Hayti, Mo., Walter Ray Usrey, of Turrell, Ark., Jerry James Usrey, of Rockford, Ill. and Larry David Usrey, of Kennett; three daughters, Rosalee Brooks and Betty Bruton, both of Kennett and Rita Mae Reed, of Eagle Lake, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 20 great-grendchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Dec. 20, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Kennett with Revs. Carroll and Eric McGruder and Stephen Reed officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were James and Kenny Reed and Jeffrey, Bryan, Jerry James and Earl Wayne Usrey.

The grandchildren served as honorary pallbearers.
