Geneva Fisher

Geneva Avis Morris Fisher, 85, of Rosenburg, Texas, formerly of Kennett, died Staruday, Dec. 29, 2001, at the Polly Ryan Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Texas.

Born Oct. 11, 1916, in Bloomfield, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Albert Green and Mary Alice Cartwright Morris. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Vader and Henry Morris and three sisters, Elgie Riles, Verbie Rampley and Annie Winchester.

Survivors include one son, Michael Fisher and wife, Laurie, of Sealy, Texas; one daughter, Beverly Hutchinson, of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one brother, Delmar Morris, of Kennett; two sisters, Beulah Frazier, of Kennett and Nell Ishmel, of Fort Smith, Ark. and six grandchildren, Todd, Sara and Heather Hutchinson and Michael, Brandon and Makayla Fisher.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 3, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vodie Jackson officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Bill Heinen, David Horton, Willie Mitchell, Carl Watson and Eric and Hubert Snipes.

Felix Franks, Jr.

Felix Franks, Jr., 68, of Kennett, formerly of Hayti. Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born Dec. 26, 1933, in Osceola, Ark., son of Felix and Lucille McKnight Franks, Sr., of Hayti, he was a truck driver for Don Medlin and he attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Hayti.

Survivors also include his wife, Alma Ruth Franks, of Kennett; two daughters, Brenda K. Franks, of Kennett and Beverly Pyland and husband, Ben, of Kennett; one granddaughter, Angela Holt and husband, William, of Holcomb; two grandsons, Chadwick Elliot Franks and Logan Duane Spence, both of Kennett; two great-granddaughters, Brittany and Whitney Holt, both of Holcomb; two brothers, Walter Franks and A.G. Franks, both of Hayti and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Jewell Bunn, of Hayti.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Mary E. Beck.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. Jerry Baker and Don Medlin officiating.

Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.

Pallbearers were A.G. Franks, Sr., Randy Franks, A.G. Franks, Jr., Joe Gorman, Donnie Owens and Martin Ray.

Earline Harris

Earline Harris, 83, of Cooter, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 31, 2001, at Cooter.

Born Dec. 18, 1918, in Dorina, Mo., daughter of the late Geroge Raymond and Bertha Stork Alexander, she was employed as an electrical technician in the aircraft manufacturing business and was of the Methodist faith.

She married Chester R. Harris, who preceded her in death on March 17, 1978.

Survivors include one nephew, Donnie Webber, of Doniphan, Mo.; four nieces, Mildred Floyd and Charlene Brodie, both of Doniphan, Florence Dial, of Cairo, Ill. and Sue Martin, of Lexington, Tenn.; three great nephews, Charles Brodie, of Osceola, Ark. and Ronald and Tony Brodie, both of Cooter; three great nieces, Jackie Pendergrass and Darla Shires, both of Caruthersville, Mo. and Debbie Conway, of Greenwood, Miss.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.

Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were William and Allen Barger, Lee Brackin, Brannon and Bill Fisher and Forest Putnam.

Shirley Hearn

Shirley Roe Hearn, 65, of Paragould, Ark., formerly of Arbyrd, Mo., died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2002 at the Arkansas Methodist Hospital in Paragould.

Born Aug. 14, 1936, in Hollywood, Mo., she was the daughter of the late F.E. and Lillie Grubbs Young.

She married J.B. Roe, who preceded her in death and later married John Hearn, who also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Cova Young.

Survivors include one son, Jason Henderson and wife, Tammy, of Caruth, Mo.; one daughter, Lillie Roe, of Arbyrd; three sisters, Dorothy Meredith, of Illinois, Kitty Southland, of Michigan and Mattie Meredith, of Paragould; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Jan. 3, at the First United Pentecostal Church in Arbyrd with the Rev. Vernon Purser officiating.

Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Neal Smith, Kenneth Sikes, Weldon Huggins, Shane Bougart, Ricky Roe and Mike Bell.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath, Mo., was in charge of arrangements.
