Lori Lynn Abdo, 36, of Murfreesboro, Tenn, formerly of Kennett, died Sunday, Feb. 24, 2002, at the Middle Tennessee Medical Center. Born March 1965, in Kennett, daughter of Larry and Sharon Tinnin Wilkison, she was a member of the United Murfreesboro Pentecostal Church and was on the Murfreesboro Fire Dept. for 14 years.
Survivors include her husband, Theodore Abdo, of Murfreesboro; one son, Austin Abdo, of Murfreesboro; two brothers, Bret and Eric Wilkison, of Murfreesboro, two sisters, Karon Hawks, of Antioch, Tenn. and Tawnya Sisk, of Murfreesboro; grandmother, Wylmo Bradshaw, of Hornersville, Mo. and grandparents, Tom and Carol Karam, of Murfreesboro.
Funeral services were held at 12 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 27, at the Jennings & Ayers Funeral Home in Murfreesboro with the Rev. Bobbie Joyce Lively officiating.
Burial was in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens at Murfreesboro.
Pallbearers were Bob Decker, Lee Douglas and The Murfreesboro Fire Dept.
Honorary pallbearers were Ron Abdo, Kyle Cobb, Bret Wilkison, Damon Hawks, Eric Wilkison and Jason Sisk.
Chester Barker, 84, of Malden, Mo., died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at his residence.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 10, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Susan Marner-Sides and Robert Morgan officiating.
Burial will follow at the Mt. Gilead cemetery in Calrkton, Mo.
Memorials may be made to the Malden United Methodist Church.
Minnie Ava Brooks, 98, of Kennett, died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Born Jan. 11, 1904, in Kennett, she was the daughter of the late George and Hattie Gae Millhouse Tillman.
In 1920, she married Lemmie L.F. Brooks, who preceded her in death on July 31, 1966. She was also preceded in death by three, brothers, Howard, Hudson and Charles Tillman and one sister, Irene Peel.
Survivors include two sons, Vernon Brooks, of Doniphan, Mo., and George Brooks, of Kennett; six grandchildren, Randy and Julie Brooks of Kennett, Carol Ketchum, of Kennett, Ava Barnes, of Arbyrd, Mo., Cheryl Lee, of Doniphan, and Margaret Moore, of Manila, Ark.; one sister, Mayme Ray, of Redwood City, Calif.; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. David Powell officiating.
Cynthia G. Collier, 40, of Bernie, Mo., died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.
Born July 4, 1961, in Kennett, daughter of the late Grady Edward and Sybil Estell Nunnery Collier, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Bernie.
Survivors include one daughter, Christina Collier, of Bristol, Tenn.; five brothers, Ron Collier, of Dexter, Mo., Gary Collier, of Sikeston, Steve Collier, of Bernie, Keith Collier, of Springfield, Mo. and Alan Collier, of Clarkton, Mo.; three sisters, Linda Snider, of Ballwin, Mo., Wanda Onderdonk, of North Little Rock, Ark., and Dianne Peterson, of Jacksonville, Ark.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Miller.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

James E. Leathers, 80, of Malden, Mo., died Wednesday, March 6, 2002, at the John J. Pershing VA Medical Hospital, in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Born Oct. 25, 1921, in Parma, Mo., son of the late Charles Earnest and Minnie Ethel Borders Leathers, he was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII and a member of the First Baptist Church in Malden.
On Nov. 2, 1940, in Malden, Mo., he married Corean Unice McPherson, who preceded him in death on Aug. 26, 1993. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Marie Snider, and two brothers, Roy & Buddy Leathers.
Survivors include two sons, Jim Leathers and wife, Wanda, of LaBelle, Fla., Jerry Mack Leathers and wife, Joyce, of Kansas City, Mo.; three daughters, Phyllis Gruchella and husband, Dan, of St. Louis, Mo., Sue Heid and husband, Marty, of Tampa, Fla., and Tammie Doyle and husband, Michael, of Yuma, Ariz.; one sister, Imogene Stewart, of Collierville, Tenn.; one brother, Dr. Charles Leathers, of Salem, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, March 8, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Shoup officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
Tommie Jean Northington, 73, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, March 4, 2002, at Denver, Colo.
Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at the First Presbyterian Church in Malden with the Rev. Bob Phillips officiating.
