Mildred Hamlett Mildred Elaine Mikel Hamlett, 74, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at St. Charles.
Born May 9, 1927, in Campbell, Mo., daughter of the late Robert William Bill and Sybil Irene Doser Mikel, she was a retired assembler for Bussman Manufacturing in St. Charles. She was a member of the Church of God located in St. Charles.
On Feb. 22, 1947, in Piggott, Ark. she married Charles Thomas Hamlett, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include two sons, Larry Joe Hamlett and wife, Jane, of Honolulu, Hawaii and Bobby Gene Hamlett and wife, Midge, of St. Peters, Mo.; one daughter, Mildred Evelyn Clark and husband, Don, of St. Charles; two sisters, Louise Hamlett and Betty Brooks, both of Malden, Mo.; two grandchildren, Todd Hamlett, of St. Charles and Kim Watford, of Winterville, N.C. and one great-grandchild, Dylan Hamlett, of St. Charles.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today, Thursday, April 11, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden, Mo.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 12, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with Rev. Dale Shoup officiating.
Burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Campbell.
Robert R. Rushing, 80, of Senath, Mo., died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at the Senath Nursing Center in Senath.
Born July 4, 1921, in Cooter, Mo., son of the late John and Vinnie Ray Rushing, he was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Iran, Iraq, and Russia.
On June 1, 1946, in Paragould, Ark., he married Willow Dean Barrow, who survives of the home.
Survivors also include one son, Bobby Ray Rushing, of Senath; two daughters, Renee Gentry and husband, Gerald, and Debbie Miller and husband, Marty, both of Senath; one brother, John Reeder Rushing, of Bernie, Mo.; three sisters, Mildred Bost and Dollie Earl, both of Senath, and Sue Bogadi, of Memphis, Tenn. and nine grandchildren, Robert and Stephen Rushing, Deanna Miller, Monica Grubb, Bobbie Brooks, Jennie Hunter, Mark Miller, Tiffany Beaton and Gerald Gentry III and six great-grandchildren, Charley Rushing, Nicole Rushing, Zachary Brooks, Kristen Grubb, Nathaniel Hunter and Meadow Clardy. He was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Dean Rushing.
Funeral servies were held Monday, April 9, at the First Baptist Church in Senath with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens in Kennett. Pallbearers were Robert and Stephen Rushing, Mark Miller, Gerald Gentry III, Brian Grubb, Chris Brooks, Chris Clardy, Michael Hunter and John Beaton.
Honorary pallbearers were Carl Lee Newman, Lester Gene and Bobby Smith, Joe Thompson, Oble Reagan, Gene West, Gerald Gentry and R.W. McLain.
Helen Wheeler, 84, of Kennett, died Monday, April 8, 2002, at Twin Rivers Medical Center at Kennett.
Born March 16, 1918, in Arbyrd, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Bessie Isabell Ray. She married Roy Wheeler, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Marcia Lee Brown, of Kennett; two sisters, Evadene Roach, of Chicago, Ill. and Geraldine Hicks, of Kennett; two grandchildren, Mindy Sewell, of Ft. Worth, Texas and Michael Buck, of Kennett and two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Glass, of Ft. Worth and Nathaniel Buck, of Poplar Bluff.
Visitation was held from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. today, Thursday, April 11 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today in the McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.
Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery near Senath.
Pallbearers were Fred Blanton, Jerry, Ronnie, David and Steven Hicks, and Scott Morgan.
